하나님이 창조하신 이 세상이 갈등과 반목으로 일그러진 세상이 되고 있습니다.
친밀해야 할 관계가 분열되고, 사랑이 오가야 할 관계 사이에 보이지 않는 장벽이 높아지고 있습니다. 나라와 민족이, 교회가, 가정이, 형제/자매가 서로 단절하고, 미워하며, 적대시합니다.

그런 세상에 사는 우리에게 평화의 희망이 있다면 예수님이 품으셨던 십자가의 마음 뿐이라고 믿습니다.

이 십자가가 하나님께서 주시는 평화를 세상 속으로 흐르게 하는 도구로 쓰임 받기를 바랍니다. 이 십자가를 바라보며 다툼 많은 이 세상 가운데 하나님께서 쓰시는 화목의 도구로 사시길 바랍니다.

그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라.

이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다.

모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니 곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라.

그러므로 우리가 그리스도를 대신하여 사신이 되어 하나님이 우리를 통하여 너희를 권면하시는 것 같이 그리스도를 대신하여 간청하노니 너희는 하나님과 화목하라.

<Reconciliation Cross>

The world we live in is filled with a brokenness that cries out for restoration. In place of relationship, there is conflict; in place of intimacy, separation. Invisible walls bisect unions once bound by love. Nation against nation, community against community, brother against sister--we are suffering from brokenness and our only hope is the Cross of Christ.

I made this cross hoping that it would be used as an instrument of reconciliation that flows from the cross of the Lord to the world. May the peace prevail on this earth and may you be the instrument of reconcilation!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-20)
